The High Holidays call us to engage in the difficult, often uncomfortable work of holding ourselves accountable and making real change. Still, the work of teshuvah (return) is not about shame or self-obliteration. Teshuvah is the slow, courageous journey back to our truest selves, the lifting up our faces toward a God Who loves us.
Psalm 130 reminds us: “For with You, God, is forgiveness.” The divine hands already hold the gift of forgiveness, and we are beckoned forward to receive it. The texts in this reader urge us to address our shortcomings with honesty, while also inviting us to seize the special opportunity for deeper connection with our forgiving God during this High Holiday season.
Place your order by Friday, August 23, to receive print copies of “Ki Im'kha HaSelihah: Teshuvah and Forgiveness” in time for the High Holidays.
